Swiss Coffee Four-Square
A multi-generational family home carries with it so much history, and so many different exterior paint colors. Faced with the task of dreaming up something fresh, our clients decided to honor all versions of the past with a modern perspective! In previous lives, this beautiful Madrona four-square was shades of dark green, bright white, and everything in between. Rather than copy exactly what previous grandparents and great grandparents had done, our clients wanted to make their home feel cozy without feeling heavy. They were perched up on a hill after all. To achieve softness, they opted for a two-toned siding scheme that highlighted both the stucco and the lap siding. To add a bit of whimsy to the overall palette, we landed on a beautiful and sweet sage green to compliment the darker forest green accents on the windows and decorative brackets. Our clients are thrilled with the results and appreciate the delicacy of the architectural details they highlighted through intentional use of color!
